The Doctor Paradox Podcast explores why doctors the world over are increasingly dissatisfied in their jobs but more importantly analyzes the lives of doctors who have carved new and interesting paths to rediscover their passions. Additionally, we interview experts from around the world on topics that shed light on the challenges that are faced by doctors and how to best address them. Each episode tackles the issue of why doctors are unhappy in their work but more importantly, what can be done about it. It will provide you with a framework that you can apply to your own life which will ideally effect the change that is needed to find fulfillment in your work.

Dr David Cox is the Chief Medical Officer of Headspace, one of the worlds leading providers of online meditation. Having begun his career as an Emergency Department physician, he soon realized that to implement the changes he felt were so needed at an institutional level in healthcare, would require a transition to his role as a healthcare executive and management consultant. After several years in an executive role, the opportunity to join Headspace came about through a fortuitous meeting with one of its cofounders. The rest as they say, is history. 

In this episode we deep dive into several key issues including the challenges of front line care, being a small piece in an enormous cog of a giant healthcare system and the best ways to think about career progression.

Currently he is the founder AliveCor, a personalized EKG device that is compatible with your smartphone which went viral after a famous 4 minute self made Youtube video. 

The medtech world is increasingly appealing to physicians but is fraught with challenges and pitfalls. Dr Albert has managed to navigate this world to immense success and shares his journey here.

It is a healthcare center designed not by doctors, but by patients. She is the author of 'Pet Goats and Pap Smears' and founder of the site IdealMedicalCare.org. Having spoken at TEDMED and Tedx she is truly a unique and passionate voice for physicians who are struggling in todays healthcare infrastructure.
